    A Country Storyteller: Trace Adkins

    Songs About Me

    Trace Adkins was one of the first country singers I listened to. I’ve never been famous for my sense of direction.I was trying to find my way to Wichita Falls, TX. I got lost for hours. The only radio station I could find in my rental car was a country station. I had never listened to country music much. I was a big rock n’roll fan. By the end of my journey, I had fallen in love with country music. It’s a love that has lasted until this day.

    Anyway, Trace Adkins’ song ” Songs About Me ” tells a great story that explains why I and many people listen to country music. I decided to write about Trace Atkins this week. I hadn’t listened to Trace Adkins in a long time, and I wondered what happened to him. Today, while I was doing my daily walk, I found his most recent album. I was amazed at how much of his great music I had been ignorant of. I guess I learned that if all you listen to is Top 40, you might miss a lot of good stuff.

    Trace Adkins, born Tracy Darrell Adkins on January 13, 1962, in Sarepta, Louisiana, is synonymous with country music. With a career spanning over three decades, Adkins has made a significant mark in the music industry and ventured into acting,television, and writing.


    Early Life and Musical Beginnings


    Trace Adkins’ love for music began at an early age. His father bought him a guitar when he was ten, and he soon started taking lessons 1. During his high school years, he joined a gospel music group called the New Commitments 1. After high school, Adkins attended Louisiana Tech University, where he played football before a knee injury ended his sports career 1. He then worked on an oil rig and played in a band called Bayou 1.

    Rise to Fame

    Adkins made his debut in 1996 with the album “Dreamin’ Out Loud,” released on Capitol Records Nashville. The album was a success, and it marked the beginning of a prolific career. Over the years, Adkins has released ten more studio albums and two Greatest Hits compilations. His distinctive bass-baritone voice and heartfelt lyrics have earned him a loyal fan base.

    Ella  Langley : A Rising Star in Country Music

    • When I first saw Ella Langley, I was impressed at how beautiful and talented she was singing “You Look Like You Love Me,” a boot-stomping, fun song. She is a Cowboys dream girl. I quickly listened to her work and thought she was unique, yet still followed the style of many of our favorite performers.
    • In her song, “Weren’t for the Wind”, the singer portrays her nature to ramble. A story of a woman who could have stayed with her old sweetheart, and how her life would be different. Truly a classic country song about life. Another of her songs, “Could’ve Been Her”, she wonders if she hadn’t hit the road and stayed with an old flame, how would things have turned out for her? These two and many others are great storytelling, boot-stomping memory songs.
    • Ms Langley’s current album, Hungover, contains her hit “You Look Like You Love Me,” a terrific bar song about a girl who decides what she wants and goes after it. I liked this song and started listening to her work. She has a similar song called “Country Boy’s Dream Girl”; I believe that is what she really is. She belts out songs that remind me of many music icons. She has said her major influences include Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton. She looks and shows influence from southern rock bands like Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers.
    • Ella Langley was born and raised in Hope Hull, Alabama, where country music echoes are as much a part of daily life as the rolling fields and endless horizons. Growing up in a close-knit community, Ella was immersed in the storytelling tradition of southern music from an early age. Her parents, avid country music fans, played legends like Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, and Hank Williams throughout her childhood, seeding in her a deep love of melody and narrative.
    • It wasn’t long before Ella was drawn to the stage herself. As a teenager, she began performing in local venues—small-town bars, fairs, and community events—where she quickly built a reputation for her powerful voice and magnetic stage presence. These formative experiences shaped her songwriting sensibilities, instilling in her a respect for the honesty and vulnerability that are hallmarks of great country songs.
    • She writes a lot of her songs. She has given us some great collaborations with artists like Riley Green, Koe Wetzel, and Kameron Marlowe. “That’s Why We Fight” and “Strangers” are songs you should listen to.
    • Ella recently said we would have to wait for her next album for a while. She thinks that many artists release albums too quickly, and wants to enjoy Hungover’s success for a while. I like her independent, straightforward way of talking about her work. She’s going places.
